Kim Nishikawara
Welcome to knishsax.com. Originally from Vancouver, Canada and now living in Manchester, England. A professional multi-reeds player for over 30 years. 'Formal' training was at Berklee College of Music studying arranging and composition, on the road playing with various bands and live theatre shows. Most recently been touring with Chris Farlowe as well as major UK tours with Alan Price "A Night at the Flamingo" and Soul'd on Blues featuring Chris Farlowe, Herbie Goins and Cliff Bennett. Over the years has played with the likes of Dominic Halpin and the Honeybees, The Powder Blues Band, Downchild Blues Band, Doc Fingers, Real Gone Rhythm, Long John Baldry, Michael Buble and many more. Here in the UK currently involved in several projects which include The Screamin' Beavers, an 11 piece soul band, a project called 'The Tribunes of the Oppressed' and arranging the horn section parts and playing on Jim Bamber's new records Bamjimba, Routes and Bamjimba, Into the Dance. Jim has some great tunes. The picture on the left is from Aanekoski, Finland appearing on a bill with Norman Beaker, Chris Farlowe, The Animals, Procul Harum and Spencer Davis. What a great day!
